Tire Discounter Group Launches TDG KidsZone Grant Initiative

Tire Discounter Group is excited to introduce a new initiative supporting healthy and active lifestyles for children up to 16 years old. The new TDG KidsZone Grant is open to all permanent residents of Ontario. Enter today for your chance to win one of four available grants!

Eligible Activities

Funds may be used for a child's recreational or life-skill development activity of choice, provided it is an extracurricular activity done during their free time. Examples include, but are not limited to:

• Physical Activities: sports, martial arts, dance, yoga, gym memberships, skiing/snowboarding, etc.
• The Arts: dance, music lessons, drama, visual arts, photography, and more.
• STEM: science, technology, engineering, math programs, science camps.
• Summer Camps

TDG Builds 10-Year Plan Focusing on Growth and Aspirations

Thanks to your continued support, we have been able to build a comprehensive 10-year plan — and our focus remains on turning these aspirations into reality. We’re excited to provide you with an update on our progress!

Major Milestones Achieved

 
•     London Distribution Centre Expansion:
      Completed on time and now open for one year, the expanded facility offers 55,000 sq ft of operational space.  
 
•     First Toronto Distribution Centre:
      We successfully opened our Toronto DC with 140,000 sq ft and an expanded fleet of delivery vehicles servicing the heart of the city. Our focus is on extending our exceptional service model to a new group of customers we’re excited to welcome into the TDG family.  
 
•     Main DC Expansion in East Garafraxa:
      We expected to outgrow our main DC eventually — but it happened faster than anticipated. As a result, we opened an additional 80,000 sq ft in September 2023, right on schedule.  

A Legacy of Growth

This journey began back in 1966 when my parents, Fred and Joyce, founded Tire Discounter. I was fortunate to purchase the business in 2011 and keep it in the family, helping to take it to a whole new level over the past 12 years.

It’s flattering to hear the many rumours about Tire Discounter being acquired — but I’m pleased to share that they are just that: rumours. We remain fully committed to our growth plans for the next decade.

Our Focus Moving Forward

We are dedicated to executing our plan and continuing to deliver the outstanding TDG experience to our extended family — our customers and vendor partners. Our ongoing initiatives include:

 
• Investing in new technology to better serve all customers.
 
• Continuing to expand our Distribution Centers across the province.
 
• Growing our philanthropic efforts in the communities we serve.
 
• Hosting many more events — and having plenty of fun along the way.

Exciting Expansion at Our London and East Garafraxa Distribution Centres

We are excited to announce the recent expansion of our distribution centre in London, ON and at our head office in East Garafraxa.  

Our London facility has received an additional 40,000 sq. ft. of space and is now fully operational. Meanwhile, our head office in East Garafraxa has added an impressive 80,000 sq. ft., bringing the total square footage at our main location to 236,000 sq. ft.   These expansions will allow us to increase inventory levels and enhance our efficiency in fulfilling orders.

What This Means for Our Customers

With these upgrades, we are now able to offer a broader product selection and provide faster shipping times.   We remain committed to delivering the highest level of service, and these improvements play a key role in helping us reach that goal.
